Austin Community College wants to expand its tax base and it's got its sights set on Hays County. The move would involve getting Hays School District voters to partner with ACC and join the college's taxing district. Hays CISD superintendent, Jeremy Lyon, says with recent examples of expansion, like Round Rock, it's all been good. Lyon says having an ACC campus would mean good things from an economic and an educational standpoint. The issue still needs school board and voter approval. He says it wouldn't go before voters until next year.
