One Part of the Trans-Texas Corridor Takes Another Step Today

A state transportation board moves ahead with plans for the I-69 leg of the Trans-Texas Corridor.

The parent group of the State Highway Department today votes on the master plan for I-69, from Texarkana, through Houston, and to Laredo and Brownsville. Tex-dot's Mark Cross says which firm, Zachry American, or Bluebonnet Infrastructure, gets the nod based on another vote by the Texas Transportation Commission today.

People against the Trans-Texas Corridor claim it is unnecessary and amounts to a big government land grab. The state says it will keep Texas' economy good.
