Capitol Metro is hoping to test it's new commuter service by the end of the week. The test runs will take place along a stretch of Mopac from 47th Street to Howard Lane.
Adam Shavitz with Capitol Metro says one of the safety features of the new rail service are installed "Quad Gates" that stop the flow of traffic in both directions of the train's crossings.
Shavitz says the added benefit of having these type of gated crossing are designated "quiet zones" where the train would not have to blow warning horns when moving through those areas.
