Troopers Out, License Offices Closed
Holiday traffic should get pretty thick today and so will the number of DPS troopers out on the roads. All Texas driver license offices are closing at noon today and will re-open Monday at their regular time. DPS Spokeswoman Tela Mange says they probably wouldn’t get a lot of business today anyway because people are busy with holiday travel, and the DPS is ready. “We’re going to have all available troopers out on the roadways looking for folks who appear to be driving while intoxicated, who are speeding or who don’t have folks in their vehicles restrained properly.” Mange says troopers will also be out in force next week for the New Year holiday.
