Just five months after rejecting a similar deal, the union representing Southwest Airlines pilots is saying "ok" to a new contract being offered by the Dallas-based carrier. For nearly three years both sides have been working to get a deal done. In June, the union rejected a proposal that included a bigger pay raise, but with the economy being what it is, Paul Flannigan with Southwest says 87--percent of the membership agreed to the new deal. Southwest Airlines Pilots’ Association president, Carl Kuwitzky says the new deal addresses quality of life issues, and provides better job security. The new contract can be amended beginning in September of 2011.
