Should Austin be a "No Kill" city?
Newsroom
11/3/2009

This week the city council will decide whether Austin should become a “No Kill” city when it comes to controlling its pet population. . It’s an ordinance being proposed by Mayor Pro-tem Mike Martinez and Council member Laura Morrison, who says earlier this year the council, asked the city’s animal advisory committee to come up with a “No Kill” plan for Austin. It’s an idea that has shown up on the council agenda since 1997. Morrison says some of the cost the city would absorb by the ordinance could be deterred by asking several of Austin’s non-profit animal centers to perform some of the work. RP SOQ]
