After months of battling out disagreements with the city, Austin’s fire fighters union has a tentative contract that would give fire fighters a 3-percent raise and limit some of the fire chief Rhoda Mae Kerr’s hiring practices, especially regarding executive staff like that of division and assistant chief positions.
