Austin voters may be deciding on a downtown light rail system on next November’s ballot.

The city is considering the pros and cons of installing a street-level track down south congress. City transportation director Robert Spillar says bridge over lady Bird Lake may not be adequate. Spillar says he's discussed the congress avenue bat colony with wildlife management experts and does not believe adding a bridge near their summer nest will cause a disruption. will cause a disruption.
