CORPUS CHRISTI — A program that offers breakfast to all elementary students in CCISD may undergo changes after employees voiced several concerns about classroom cleanliness and difficulty transporting the food.
The district wants to improve the Breakfast in the Classroom program after getting information from teachers through an anonymous survey, Corpus Christi Independent School District Superintendent Scott Elliff said.
“That being said, there is no dispute that students perform better academically if they have breakfast,” he said.
Last year, the district expanded the program so its elementary schools would get a variety of breakfast items. A different item is served each day, but the menu remains the same each week.
